Richard A. Darlow

Throughout his career, Rick Darlow has demonstrated a unique ability to successfully grasp a broad range of complex technologies and leverage them in the marketplace.  In addition, he has experience in structuring financing with venture capital and angel investors as well as securing funding from the federal sector.

Rick has excelled in turnaround and transition situations which have created substantial value for shareholders and investors.  Such assignments have included acquisition integration, consolidation, global expansion and financial turnaround.  Industry segments include electronics, semiconductor equipment & materials, enterprise software and green technologies.  

As President of the Infrared Products division of L-3, he restructured the company and led it to first time profitability.  He also refocused the company into security and international high growth markets.

As senior executive at two Silicon Valley software startups, Grey Zone and BayWeb, he structured financing with venture capital and angel investors to execute their growth strategies. 

As Group President at Pacific Scientific Instruments, Rick consolidated three enterprises as part of a strategic initiative which led to a doubling of shareholder value.  

In the semiconductor equipment industry, he was President of Matheson/Semi-Gas, achieving 238% growth in three years with a 435% increase in operating income through significant expansion in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.

At Asyst Technologies, Rick led the sales and marketing efforts for this automation company ranked as the fifth fastest growing hi-tech company in the U.S.

In his earlier career, Rick utilized his Professional Engineering background working in green technologies and environmental programs.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Florida and attended Stanford University’s Executive Institute For Management of High-Tech Companies.  He also holds a United States Government Secret Security Clearance.

Rick serves as a mentor for the North Texas Regional Center for Innovation and Commercialization which administers the State of Texas Emerging Technology Fund.  He also serves on the advisory board to BigThought, a not-for-profit creative learning organization.
