Michel Jaeger

Michel Jaeger, a graduate in electronic and mechanic engineering, was transferred to the US by CAMECA, then a subsidiary of Thomson CSF (now THALES) a large electronic and defense contractor in France. In 1980 he joined Perkin-Elmer, at the time the largest semiconductor equipment manufacturer in the world. He setup and managed the central region sales and service office in Dallas and in 1983 was transferred to the European headquarters in the Netherlands to manage the business with the largest European manufacturers of computer chips, IBM, ST Microelectronics among them.

At the end of 1987 Michel was urged back to Dallas to manage Perkin-Elmer sales in the Central Region, where he progressively took responsibility for the entire US Sales, an approximately $50M business. In 1993, at the request of European companies eager to participate in the American market of the semiconductor equipment he created Lithography Concepts, Inc. and at the same time managed a network of manufacturers reps for OPAL, an Israeli company maker of innovative electron beam metrology equipment. In the Fall of 1997 Michel joined a start-up, Rose Research LLC, created to market Intellectual Property, high technology patents, developed mostly in Europe.

These technologies were essentially in the fields of optoelectronics, VLSI design, and document management software. At Rose Research he created a new company, Optimeon LLC, to implement prototype products using the technologies in Rose Research’s portfolio. With this experience, since 2001, Michel restructured Lithography Concepts mission to promote and develop the exposure of small to medium size French companies to international markets essentially in the US.

Michel was a member of the International committee of the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC) based in Richardson, TX, the headquarters of the “Telecom Corridor”.

As a French Foreign Trade Advisor since 1993 Michel works closely with the General Consulate and trade office in Houston. His contacts with the French businesses in Texas: Essilor, Accor, EADS, Sandia Imaging, etc. in Dallas and in Houston with companies mainly involved in the energy, oil and metallurgy industries, are valuable resources for consulting and guidance to smaller companies interested in developing their markets in the US. Michel’s familiarity with many high technology markets is a valuable asset for M & A consulting as a member of the Gerson Lehrman Group.
